U.S. Embassy Small Grants Program 2010
The U.S. Embassy continues to accept grant proposals from registered Belarusian non-governmental organizations whose projects endorse civic dialogue, public advocacy, social development and strengthening of local communities, local self-government, gender equality, market reforms and preservation of cultural and natural heritage, as well as environmental and post-Chernobyl issues.
In 2009 the Embassy Small Grants Program awarded 13 grants to Belarusian NGOs with the total funding of about $300,000. The supported projects sought to promote social development and strengthening of local communities, preservation of national cultural and historical heritage, rights of the disabled persons and children at risk.
