U.S. Embassy Categorically Rejects MFA Assertion

The Embassy of the United States of America in Belarus categorically rejects the assertion that Belarusians or any other persons are unsafe in the United States. Regarding the two deaths mentioned in the note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy has already expressed its condolences to the families of the two young people who recently lost their lives in the United States. In both cases, as family members of the victims and the Government of Belarus are very well aware, competent authorities in the United States are actively investigating the deaths. Further discussion of these cases would be inappropriate while those investigations still underway, and would also be disrespectful to the families of the deceased individuals.
