Embassy Supports Interethnic Summer Youth Camp
Orly Keiner discusses the project with organizers
On August 7, 2010, Assistant Public Affairs Officer Orly Keiner visited an interethnic summer camp for young people of Polish, Russian, Jewish, Ukrainian and Belarusian nationalities. This 7-day exchange of national cultures was organized by the Jewish Cultural Society “Emunah” and funded by the US Embassy Small Grants Program. Fifty young people from the five national communities expanded their knowledge about cultural traditions of each nation, attended arts and crafts studios, cooked and tasted national food. The camp culminated with a concluding concert where all participants demonstrated their best talents in performing national and modern songs and dances. Unforgettable moments and enriching experiences as well as the atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding will stay with them for a long time. The project participants, representatives of Diasporas and organizers expressed their gratitude for the Embassy support.
