US Embassy sponsors visit of U.S. classical pianist John Robilette
The US Embassy is pleased to announce the visit of internationally recognized classical pianist John Robilette. Mr. Robilette will give a concert recital in Minsk at the large hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society (50 Nezavisimosti) on Tuesday, April 24, 7pm as part of their “Minsk Spring” International Music Festival. His diverse program includes pieces from Schumann, Beethoven, Paderewski, Chopin, and Saint-Saens. Mr. Robilette’s program in Belarus will also include master classes and a concert at the Molodechno Music School.
John Robilette has toured over twenty countries in eastern and western Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, having performed at many major performance halls and recorded with symphony orchestras such as the St. Petersburg Philharmonic in Russia, the Russian National Symphony and the New Philharmonic of Sophia, Bulgaria. Mr. Robilette has also been involved in cultural exchange and public diplomacy for many years, having played such key roles as creator and director the US government Artistic Ambassador Program and director of the International Music Initiative.
