U.S. Speaker Discusses Legal Information Resources at Minsk Conference

U.S. Speaker Forrest Rhoads of Minnesota delivered a keynote address at the international conference, "Information Technologies and Law," sponsored by the National Center of Legal Information (NCLI) in Minsk, Belarus, October 28-29. Rhoads, Vice President for Technology Product Development at West Publishing and West Group, joined legal information experts from Belarus, Germany, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, and the U.K at the conference. His program in Minsk also afforded him the opportunity to share insights on legal information dissemination with several groups of Belarusian law and information professionals. Rhoads' presentation, "Sparkling Law," was extremely well received at a meeting with young lawyers and law students organized in collaboration with the local office of ABA/CEELI (American Bar Association's Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative). The Speaker also briefed the NCLI staff on the specifics of West Publishing's operations.
