Embassy Hosts U.S. Trivia Night with Alumni and Students

More than 100 exchange program alumni and students gathered at the U.S. Embassy Minsk on September 7. 2012 to test their knowledge of the United States at the Embassy’s first annual back-to-school trivia night and barbeque.  The trivia game featured about 40 questions on various issues related to the United States, such as sports, history, and culture. The team “Za Svabodu” (For Freedom) won the event, answering the most questions correctly out of the 14 teams that took part in the event. Charge d’Affaires Ethan Goldrich awarded the winning team with the grand prizes- iPod Touches.

The Trivia Night was an excellent opportunity for the Embassy to keep in touch with USG alumni. This was also a good chance for the alumni and their close friends to meet the Embassy’s new Charge d’Affaires at an informal event, mingle with each other, and hear important announcements about future alumni projects. Many participants expressed their enthusiasm with the event and thanked the Embassy for organizing such a fun evening in a cozy atmosphere.
