US Embassy Supports Publication of Belarusian-English Phrasebook

On September 20, 2010 the Belarusian Language Society (BLS) presented a Belarusian-English and English-Belarusian Phrasebook published with the financial support of the US Embassy Small Grants Program in the framework of a year-long  project “Dialogue” aiming at the popularization of the Belarusian language in the society. The presentation took place in the Minsk book store “Knizhnyi Svet”  that hospitably opened its doors for the NGO members, guests, journalists and book lovers. Mr. Aleh Trusau, Head of the Belarusian Languages Society, expressed hope that this phrasebook would be followed by a series of similar publications in other languages that would bridge the Belarusian culture with the family of international cultures and be a handy tool in communication between people.  The phrasebook  has been published with a limited print-run to be distributed in libraries and educational institutions.  However, in the future the authors plan to reprint the edition with a bigger circulation to be available in bookstores across the country.
