Ambassador Krol Hosts Minsk Orphans at Embassy Residence
On Thursday, September 2, Ambassador George Krol opened his house to orphans from Children's Orphanage #6 in Minsk. About forty orphans, accompanied by three teachers, came out to enjoy an event on the residence lawn that included McDonald's Happy Meals, two clowns, and an accordionist playing favorite sing-a-longs. The Public Affairs Section coordinated the event that continued a long-standing relationship that the U.S. Embassy has developed with this orphanage, including a Halloween party last year. USG Alumni from the Future Leaders Exchange Program came out to help lead the children in games and activities.
