The Disabled Take a Lead

Children and their parents participate in the action “We Care for Any Child”

On August 28 Liozno District Organization of Public Association “Belarusian Society of the Disabled” had a working meeting to discuss the mid-term results of the project “People is the Key Resource to Bring Positive Changes into Society” supported by the U.S. Embassy Small Grants Program. The grant allowed the organization to conduct series of interesting workshops and community events to help people with disabilities integrate better into community life and to attract new volunteers. Among the events were educational sessions on assessment of community needs, volunteerism, effective communication, actions “Let’s make our town greener” during which an alley of 35 young oak trees was planted, and “We Care for Any Child” with participation of children with disabilities and their families.
