Embassy Builds on Partnership with Minsk Regional Public Library

PAO Orly Keiner presents U.S. Embassy donation to Minsk Regional Public Library

Over 50 high school and university students, teachers of English and library friends participated in the event of the U.S. Embassy’s donation to Foreign Literature Department (former American Corner) on April 21,2010 at Minsk Regional Public Library. “We are happy to be able to enrich the Library’s collection through an additional donation that includes 157 titles of books for children and teachers - works of many of America’s famous and talented writers,” said Public Affairs Officer Orly Keiner at the official ceremony. Library Director Natalia Chueva thanked the U.S. Embassy for inestimable contribution in the past year that made it possible to update books, magazines, computers, Internet and library support materials and helped the readers better learn about the United States, its people, culture, history, and language. The event highlighted the success of the Embassy’s partnership with the Regional Library and Embassy’s contribution to the Library development of a total value more than $60,108 9. It also attracted new audiences to resources about the United States.
