U.S. Expert on American Architecture Lectures in Minsk
During the week of May 19-24 the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy sponsored a U.S. Speaker's Program for Dr. Carol Krinsky, Professor of Art History at the New York University in New York City. Professor Krinsky, a well-known expert on the history of American architecture, addressed the themes of the evolution of architecture in the U.S.; multicultural design in American architecture; architecture and arts of synagogues; and religious architecture in a pluralistic society. Her agenda included six guest lectures to undergraduate students and faculty specializing in the cultural studies and art history at the International Institute of Humanities (IIH) of the Belarusian State University (BSU) which was a local sponsor of the Speaker's program. The students and faculty of two more educational institutions - Belarusian State Academy of Arts and Department of Philosophy of BSU - also had a chance to enjoy Dr. Kinsky's most stimulating presentations.
