John Janek answers teachers’ questions about personal experience and education in the USA

The U.S. Embassy Speaker “Meet an American” program and the IRC presentation on the “New Opportunities for Teachers” took place in the  framework of the “Days of American Culture at Borisov Library” on November 24. Information Management Officer John Janek met with a group of over 40 teachers of English from Borisov high schools. During the program, John Janek talked about interactive educational on-line resources to motivate science learning, reading, building vocabulary and phonetic skills. He demonstrated web resources available for free at www.starfall.com and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In the end, he answered teachers’ questions about personal experience and education in the USA. After the Embassy Speaker program, the IRC Technician Nadya Skorobogataya made a presentation on the IRC resources, opportunities and programs. The program was supported by distribution of the information packages, including latest issues of the English teaching “Forum” magazine, the "U.S.A. History in Brief” publications, and IRC promotional materials.
