Gender Violence Prevention is in Focus

On September 16-17 Gomel Branch of the Belarusian Association of Young Christian Women conducted a two-day educational workshop for social workers and psychologists named “Modern Challenges in Providing Psychological Assistance to the Victims of Gender Violence and Trafficking in Persons”. The seminar was held with support of the U.S. Embassy Small Grants Program within the framework of a bigger project aimed at prevention and minimization of consequences of gender based violence. About 30 professionals gathered in the premises of the of the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of Gomel City Executive Committee to share their experiences and learn new practices of working with the victims of gender violence. Topical lectures and presentations delivered by invited trainers were followed by lively group discussions and case studies.
