US Embassy First Secretary Travels to Mogilyov

February 6, 2008

On February 5, U.S. Embassy First Secretary Louis Crishock traveled to Mogilyov to observe the appeal of Artur Finkevich against his politically motivated conviction for allegedly violating correctional facility rules.  Regarded by the international community as a political prisoner, Finkevich was sentenced in May 2006 to two years of forced labor in connection with his democratic opposition activities.
