Students Learn about Opportunities of International Exchange During International Education Week 2010

Director of the International Education and Career Advising Center Kevin Reiling talks to students

On November 19, 2010 Minsk Regional Public Library hosted the "Education in USA: Programs and Opportunities for Belarusian Students" event for over 130 high school and university students from Minsk. It was initiated by the Public Affairs in the framework of the International Education Week 2010. Director of the International Education and Career Advising Center Kevin Reiling told about the higher education system of the United States and opportunities for international students. The U.S. Embassy staff presented educational exchange programs including the Youth Cultural Opportunity and Muskie Fellowships. IRC Technician Nadya Skorobogataya made an overview of virtual resources, such as EducationUSA and the America.gov, Embassy Minsk web-site and the Facebook page. The students also learned about subject informational resources available in the collection of the library and IRC. Participants of government exchange programs shared their life and educational experience in taking part in international exchange. In the end, the program organizers answered questions raging from the English testing services for Belarusians to how to better search financial support for education in American universities.
