American movie director Thom Eberhardt of Burbank, California, received the "Artistic Achievement" award in the children's and youth cinema competition at the 10th Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad-2003." During his visit to Minsk, Eberhardt spoke at high schools; the American Corner at the Pushkin Library; a roundtable session for Belarusian journalists, movie directors and producers; and a program for USG exchange program alumni. At some of the venues, another Eberhardt film, "Ratz" was shown; he earlier received an Emmy for this film and wrote a novel based on it called "Rat Boys." Eberhardt's other movies include "Night of the Comet" (writer and director), "Gross Anatomy" (director), "Captain Ron" (writer/director), "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid" (writer), "All I Want for Christmas" (writer), and "Without a Clue" (director).
