Ambassador Stewart Presents Stariye Dorogi Regional Hospital with American Medicine

On October 16, Ambassador Stewart visited Stariye Dorogi in Minsk oblast to present the Regional Hospital with medicine donated by American companies Elan Holdings Inc. and Schwarz Pharma.  The medicine for Stariye Dorogi arrived as part of a shipment valued at over USD 1 million destined for hospitals throughout Belarus.  Approximately 1,300 patients will be treated free of charge thanks to the donation.  The U.S. Department of State covered shipping and administrative costs for the donation, which was coordinated by the American charitable organization CitiHope International and the Belarusian NGO Nadezhda Express with the cooperation of the Belarusian Ministry of Health. During her visit, Ambassador Stewart also met with Vasily Usik, Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee.
