Opportunities for Partnership are Discussed at the International Conference on Children’s Library in Minsk

On November 15, over 50 senior library specialists from schools' and children’s pubic libraries of the city of Minsk and the region, Russia, and Poland participated in the international conference “Children Library: A Center of Information for Children and Youth.” It was organized by the Belarusian Library Association and Minsk Centralized System of Children Libraries and was hosted the Central City Children Library. The Conference participants discussed international experiences in library services for children and youth, services for persons with disabilities, free access to information, legal information centers for young readers, innovative programs and opportunities for international cooperation among others. The IRC Assistant Violetta Vutsans made a presentation on the “U.S. Programs and Projects for Children and Youth: Opportunities for Partnership.” After the presentation she answered numerous questions on the Embassy’s informational and educational projects and shared the experience of the Embassy’s Information Resources Center in teaching information literacy.
