U.S. Embassy Supports the Development of Charities in Belarus

On December 8 the Business Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers named after Prof. Kouniavskiy gathered more than 30 representatives of businesses, governmental and non-governmental organizations and media to discuss the status of corporate charities in Belarus, share best practices and work out suggestions for the improvement of the legal environment for charities in the country.  The participants were familiarized with the profound analysis of the legislation related to charitable activities in Belarus and neighboring countries and briefed on the perception of charities in the Belarusian society. They also took part in dynamic discussions of the subject matter.  The event was held in the framework of the project “The Public Discussion of Corporate Charity Development Perspectives in Belarus” funded by the US Embassy Small Grants Program.
