American Voices Concert

On February 26, 2003, the U.S. Embassy in Minsk, in cooperation with the Belarusian State Academy of Music, sponsored a program featuring American musicians John Ferguson and Ira Spaulding, and the student chorus of the Belarusian State Academy of Music. Mr. Ferguson and Mr. Spaulding represent the American not-for-profit organization American Voices, which is dedicated to the promotion of quality American music. With concert programs reflecting the uniqueness and cultural diversity of the United States, American Voices features selections from American classical, contemporary, opera, and jazz repertoire. Since 1992, the musicians of American Voices, under the artistic leadership of founder John Ferguson, have reached an audience of millions through concerts, workshops and master classes, special projects, and radio and television broadcasts throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. In the framework of their visit in Minsk, the musicians also conducted master classes for music students.
