My America Photo Contest

American Embassy in Belarus is pleased to announce My America photo contest to highlight life in the United States. The contest will be held from January 1 until April 1, 2010. Everyone who would like to share their photos of the unique moments in their US life is welcome to participate.

Contest requirements:

All Belarusian citizens who visited the United States are welcome to participate. Not more than five pictures per person are accepted. The photos should be in jpeg format and fall under one of the categories below:

• US Culture and Traditions
• US nature 
• Architecture and memorable places in the United States
• Humorous situations in the US life

Only photos taken during the time in the United States will be considered.

All participants should abide by the copyright laws and present their original work. They should refrain from submitting images that could offend other people.

The US Embassy reserves the right to use the materials of the contest in its publications, both printed and electronic.

The winners of the contest will be selected by professional jury.

Evaluation criteria: quality, originality, improvisation, inspiration.

How to submit: Please send your images by email to photos@usembassy.minsk.by or by regular mail to:

Please note that the hard-copy images will not be returned to their owners.

The participants should also send their filled-in application (PDF, 79KB) along with the pictures. Please include your name and the number of your work in your file name (for example, ivanov_01.jpg.)
